The National Folk Festival (Easter in Canberra) is looking for more music instrument exhibitors. They have room for more, but there does not appear to be a lot of interest. If you are interested in exhibiting please PM me and I will give you contact details. On line applications have closed, but they will still accept anyone who would like to exhibit their work. There is a fee involved, but you get a free ticket, and free ticket for one helper, plus free unpowered camping. The fee is to help pay for the hire of the building. The exhibition is in a building that is locked up at night, not a tent, so you don't need to pack up every night and set up the next morning. I don't know what the fee is right now, but last time it was less than $300, so overall is a pretty good deal. Far less than a season ticket. I know there were complaints about the cost in previous years, but they have listened and it is no where near as expensive as a few years ago. If you want to sell instruments, the National is the place to be. I very seldom don't sell something. Last time I sold 3, and one was sold with the cash in the bank account 10mins after the doors opened so I was real happy.
I would be interested to know why there is little interest. If you have declined I would be interested to know why. Too expensive is no longer a good excuse. Sold out with back orders is, but that is my current situation and I intend to exhibit so currently it is a mad busy period to get some mandolins finished in time.
