Just wondering if someone can tell me how deep the string relief scoop on the Selmer headstock is, I can't find a dimension on the plans I have or the Collins book ( could possibly be my crappy eyesight ). I can probably guesstimate it but I'd rather have a dimension to work with.
Thanks Wayne

Re: Selmer question
I've been off the board for a while, just saw your post. There is not prescribed depth to the relief, but you need at least 3mm to have the necessary clearance. I usually carve down to the base of the ebony head stock plate which is typically 3.5mm. I've seen some guitars where the reliefs are deeper, revealing the head stock wood below. If you do this, you need to go deep enough that it looks intensional

Re: Selmer question
Thanks Craig for the reply. I've routed it now so all good, from memory I think I went about 4mm, I was really just guessing but it looks ok. Wayne
