Everything was going so well until it wasn’t!
I was cutting a binding channel 1.5mm around the lower bout of the top of the guitar with my router. The guide bush worked itself loose in the blink of an eye, I had two choices, quickly avert my gaze or risk a guide bush in the face.
I averted and can now clearly see the damage caused by the router bit gnarling inside the top. I have patched up the damage with a 2cm square patch but it looks bloody atrocious.
Does anyone have any magic method for making it more camouflaged?

Pics?
P.S. We’ve all had bad router days. I myself have had many. Luckily it’s always only been timber damaged and not flesh.

Commiserations. This is why the sunburst finish was invented.

Maybe an opportunity for an inlay, of course it depends on the position. Wayne

Been there, done that. Mine was on a cedar top. I patched it with a piece from the same top but after several years it still sticks out like the proverbial dogs bollocks. Its pretty much the first thing I see whenever I pick it up.
In hindsight I might have been better off to have put paua shell or something equally distinct from the top, following the "if you cant hide it make it very obvious" theory.
Good luck whatever you do.
Cheers

top or bottom of the guitar? if the top perhaps install an armrest ..
Bottom, i would probably start on a new top - sorry. If there is a good invisible repair i would love to learn it too!
