Thought it would be good to post this one here, as its got aussie timbers. ive tried king billy and huon, not quite good enough for Spanish traditional guitars. I got this perfect quarter sawn piece of bunya, from guitarwoods.com.au which wasn't too dense and had a tap tone like master grade spruce - their bunya seems better than others I have tapped on, even a piece I bought that rolls a lot off the quarter still sounds great. Then I matched that to a lovely quarter sawn western sheoak piece I got from a W.A. luthier, that has the perfect classical guitar tap tone with depth like Indian rosewood and not as glassy tap as brazillian (best makers in classical use Indian by choice). in a blind test, this sounds exactly like a great spruce guitar. I will make recordings of this to demonstrate how good these aussie timbers can be. Krzysztof Piotrowicz No. 9 Bunya/Sheoak classical guitar.
Very light, and will be used for recording and performing. huge tone colour range, very bright, deep bass. a bit better vibrato than most newly built spruce classicals.

Now that is a beautiful looking classical guitar. Nice mix of the local timbers. Thanks for showing it off!

Congratulations - thats a beautiful looking guitar! I love the look of that Bunya soundboard. If it sounds as good as euro spruce.... well... thats very interesting and i’d be keen to give it a go on an upcoming build...

they dont all but, if you know the feel of good spruce and the taptone it has, youll find a good piece of bunya. gotta judge each piece on their own.
