Guitar Stand
Guitar Stand
I can’t decide if this guitar stand is a long lost Shaker design or if it would come from the Ikea custom shop. If such a place existed, the guitar stand might be called Yngwie. Nordic construction spruce with red cedar tenons
The guitar is my second flat top, an OM style, redwood, silky oak, qld. walnut and mahogany. It was strung up six weeks ago and still wants final polishing.

Re: Guitar Stand
That stand looks like it was designed by Toulouse Lautrec. He was 4ft 8in high, standing up, of course

Re: Guitar Stand
Well I wasn't aware of it but your design must have been lurking in my mind when I came to build one as a little project between guitars as it were.
This is made from laminated ash and some padauk that turned out too splitty for a guitar body. Needs a coat of varnish and a bit of padding in the appropriate places.

I like what you guys have done ,If you consciously think I'm going to build a better stand it's really hard to be totally unique but then I'm no designer

John ,of way too many things to do.

Re: Guitar Stand
Martin you're dead right. Proper curved laminations, and you can be sure it has the right main resonant frequency!
It now has a falcate braced guitar proudly displayed on it.
