Binding Glue

Hi Folks,
a genuine question, but also wanted to unlurk myself

I have some plastic bindings for a mountain dulcimer and need to get them on within two weeks.

I think I've left my run a bit late for a mail order adhesive?

Any recommendations? - Cheers

Selleys plastic glue available from Coles, Have used it several times myself.
A wipe on primer you use first then the adhesive.

Check out your local hobby/model shop. They have a plastic glue which smells identical to Weldon and will stick plastic to wood.

Tarzan's grip has worked fine for me for gluing plastic to wood.
Very cheap at Bunnies.

personally I like CA gel. Used Weldon a few times and didn't bond with it even bought a couple of large tubes which I bought at a plastics place out Braeside way. It still sits unopened in a drawer in the workshop/
The CA can be a little challenging at first and after you glue your fingers to the job a couple times you learn that less is more. A little dab'll dou'ya. It setups up nice and quick but not too quick [30 secs] so you dont have to pile on the masking tape.

With a bottle of zap yellow, some catalyst, spatula and some acetone I can get the binding on, set hard and cleaned up in one go.

I buy my Weldon from a local Perspex place. Cheaper than buying online too. Try a couple of your local plastic suppliers.

Rather than plastic bindings, I have some of that black/white/black purfling.
It's around 3mm x 1mm

Can anyone see a problem with me stacking two of those to make a 6mm x 1mm and using titebond?

It's a tear-drop dulcimer so the curve is quite gentle?
