I have a piece of Rimu here and I was wondering if it's suitable for necks, it's starting to get a few cracks, if I don't use it soon it'll be no good.

Rimu for a neck would be a no go!
It's popular for flooring and furniture, but I was warned by a timber guru that it is not know for stability.
I have used it before with success, but that was simply for a carved top, not something requiring the stability that a neck does
