Blackbean Concert Uke
Re: Blackbean Concert Uke
G'day Soulman,
I really like the look of your Black Bean Concert Uke - great work!
Some time ago I posted a question about the suitability of Black Bean for instrument making but got little response. I had impulse purchased a couple of fully quartered Black Bean boards from "Stan ? - the chainsaw man" at the Canberra Working with Wood Show in 2013.
Did you have any issues bending the Black Bean? ... and did you have any issues with working it as I have been told it is quite toxic and can cause skin irritation, nose bleeds etc.
Cheers,
Alan

Re: Blackbean Concert Uke
Hi Allan
Thanks for that.
I had to work it. I had to over bend it to get it to shape.
I wore dust masks. I had no issues personally. splinters sting a bit like a green ant bite.
