Warning, WAS attack...
I have been affected by the tonewoods I have seen on this forum, namely Myall, Tassie Blackwood and Tassie Myrtle.
Basically I would like suggestions/links as to where I can purchase such delicious peices of wood, the blackwood & the myrtle for back & sides, and having a go at making myall bridges.
Sorry, the WAS forced me to come out of the closet. I have to acquire such beautiful wood!!
Thanks.

Sam we know that resistance is futile, just give in to the force
Tim Spittle, I'm sure he's a member here is where you want to get your Auzzie woods from. Australian Tone Woods
He's the wood pimp your looking for
And if it's not on his website, it doesn't mean he doesn't have it or can't get it either.
I can't wait to start building with my "out back" package from Tim.

Oh, and I love having an edit button, this will be the 4th edit on this post

Aye, Tim seems to be the man- thanks for the heads up on asking him for stuff that isn't advertised on the website. I had a lovely set of lace Sheoak from him the other day, I'll ask him if he's got some Myall too.
I'll have a think as to what EXACTLY I want before I get a quote & pull the trigger.
Your photograph didn't help in the slightest.
(But thanks though!
)
Woe is me, for I have been struck by a dread affliction.....WAS.

Is it because I typed the words, "Woe to me, for I have been struck by a D R E A D affliction???....WAS" Aha. swear filters are in place...
Hesh????

Lillian, I saved the OLF auction thread on this one because I knew that I would never remember what it all was (I'm really bad with wood indentification anyway)
So here's Lance's post on what's in the package and Tim's correction post on what all that beautiful wood is
Lance's post
Flamed Tasmanian Blackwood Back and Sides
Flamed Tasmanian Blackwood neck blank
Flamed Tasmanian Blackwood Fretboard and Bridge blank
Tiger Myrtle Binding stock and headstock overlay.
Tim's post
Please note that the fretboard and bridge are DESERT HARDWOODS: MULGA FRET BOARD & MINNERICHI BRIDGE. These are both
very hard/durable as well as having extremely resonant qualities. They are rated between 13 and 18 on the hardness scale
referred to at my tonewood data information page. Ebony is about 8. The hardness range is about 1 to 20 with 20 being the
hardest. Both materials sand and buff to a very smooth and often glassy finish. They are both very stable with only about a 1-2%
shrinkage from green to dry states.
This is going to be coupled with a AAAA lutz top from Shane. It's going to be a gift for someone who has helped changed my life (he doesn't know about it yet)
This was wood that was up for auction to help our OLF friend Kevin Gallagher this past year.
Thanks again to Tim for such a great set of woods, really looking forward to dulling all my tools on that mulga & minnerichi

Sam
Hi Sam
Me - I didn't do anything but the forum's dirty word filter caught your entry of d***d. Someone must have told the filter to replace d***d with the big ugly GLO statement...... I wonder who did this
No apologies needed for getting hit with WAS. We of all people completely understand. The only relief as you know is to pick out some killer zoot and fill the stash. Be sure to post pics of what you get too.
