Mirrotone sealer

Has anyone used Mirrotone sanding sealer under their 3220? would be glad of amy feedback

I've used the mirotone 2k sealer, but I sprayed a different clear over it.

It sprays well, cures fast. Sands easily. It's pretty user friendly.

Hi Rod,

I have and still do, no draw backs as far as I'm concerned, sands a hell of a lot easier than gloss and can can be sanded the same day so handy to seal and build.

Some would say it can dull the clarity when used with dark timbers, I would beg to differ so long as your not putting a heap of coats on.

will post some picks soon of a Ziricote Classical I'm just about to finish and it certainly has not dulled the clarity

I use it in preference to Z-poxy now.

Doesn't shrink back, sand the same day and as Paul says it's a lot easier to sand than epoxy based fillers.

Is also very good for drop filling before your top coats.

I'll be finishing up a Honduran Mahogany guitar that has been top coated with 3220/60 in the coming weeks.

I'll post some pics when it's done.

Doesn't shrink back

Aaahhhrrr, yeah it does. Not as much as other sealers I've tried, but it does sink back.

Don't know what you do with yours but I've had no sink back at all.

If you get too aggressive with a buffing wheel it'll sink back straight away.

I thin 3220 too 50/50 contrary to directions for the product, just wondering what rate you thin the sanding sealer Bob? Directions say 10/20 percent, just wondering of you thin to the same as 3220?

One more question, is that 100% medium or 10% ultra slow added?

I use 1260 thinners - no need for the ultra slow (1218) with the sealer.
