I get asked this quite a lot..You have to remember that if you space out the strings at the bass end of the nut you have to cramp up the strings at the treble end ..I don't do this co's finger tips press down on the centre line of the string..But!! if you want to compensate this is how you do it with the gauge.simso wrote:Looks very nice, what have you put in place to allow for string thickness compensation
Scissor marker? or how about Pointy Adjustable Things (or PAT for short)?timbuck wrote:Still looking for a good name for e'm
I call e'm "string spacing gauge" But we've got to come up with a good name one day..."Nut Scratcher" was one suggestionNick wrote:What did you end up calling them Ken? EBay's a big place if you don't know what you are looking for specifically
Well! thanks for that vote of confidence Kim ...You're right I don't do this for money..I'm retired now and i'm 75 in a couple of months and the mortgage is paid off...and I do all this stuff mainly for fun.Kim wrote:I reckon since Tim first joined us a few years back, he's clearly demonstrated his intent is to bring more to the craft than he will ever take...Please feel free to post relevant links and prices for your products Tim...especially if you offer our members a quid or two off...![]()
Seriously,..feel free to post your links Tim. The ANZLF's seemingly firm rules concerning commercial promotion have always been about sparing our members the hard-sell and to encouraging confidence in the credibility of our discussions via the removal of incentives for people to join our group solely for their own personal gain and your definitely not one of 'them' mate..![]()
