Dust collection
Dust collection
I am looking for ways to improve my dust collection. I don't want to damage my health. Currently I have a vacuum connected to my drum sander, nothing on my band saw or other devices. When I need to I wear muffs, a decent mask over my nose and mouth, protective glasses but have no other means of keeping fine dust away from me. However I am ready to go with a system. Any thoughts and ideas on what works appreciated.
Re: Dust collection
When I did the math, I worked out it was cheaper for me to buy a heap of dust extractors than it was to buy one massive one and run all the piping.
I also recommend room air filters.

Re: Dust collection
I showed part of mine the other week. Each machine gets full suck from the unit as its the only one on line, with all the others shut off when not in use.
My bandsaw has a small unit of its own. Machines have their own lights too, so only one is on at a time.
