AFT closing

Post by 56nortondomy » Fri Apr 04, 2014 12:21 pm

I know there's a few forum members that get timber from Aust. Furniture Timber in Port Melb. I've just been there to get some Padauk and they've told me they're closing for good on 30/6/14. There will be no more sales after the 2nd. week in May and they'll be closed Easter week, so if anyone needs anything it might be wise to get in quick, they're not ordering any more timber in, what they've got is it. All the Padauk is gone except for a few boards that dosen't have much colour. They've been selling whole lots to other companies. Wayne

They've been running down stock for a long time.

I bought pretty much anything that was good before Xmas (a ute load) and i don't think they've been getting anything new for a long time before that as stocks were slim pickings even then.

At that time they planned on moving, as they had sold the site, but I'm not surprised to hear they're closing completely.

Shame really.

Always sad when a business closes, but worse when it one of our affiliates. Hope the day never comes when all we can purchase is Tassie Oak or Pack Hog.
