Probably the most unusual combo of woods that I've ever built with. I've had the Wandoo on my shelf for since 2008 and have always wanted to build with it, but this was the first time that a client picked it out. Mostly because of the crazy figure and it being Australian, as that was part of the design brief.
The Ancient Spruce was picked because it was so unusual and again rare. The rest of the trim was left to me use my best judgement, which is always my favourite way to build.
Top - Ancient Spruce (3000 years old)
Back and Sides - Acacia Wandoo
Neck - Spanish Cedar
Head Plates - Red Gum Burl
Bindings - Honduran Rosewood
Rosette - Spalted Mango, Koa and Paua
Fret Board - Ebony with 12" radius
Bridge - Honduran Rosewood
Strings - South Coast Uke MU
Tuners - Pegheds
Finish - Mirotone 3220

Again, inspirational. What was the Wandoo like to bend?

I thought it might be a pain, but actually is some of the easiest wood I've worked with. I'd describe it as "buttery" to work. Very fine pores and finishes very nicely.

"Buttery"
should be part of a valid description of tonewoods.
"Perfectly quartered with a Striking grain enhanced by it's buttery working nature"
