Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Well seeing as i'm a creature of habit i can be found lurking around the instrument builders tent again at the PFFF this weekend, i really enjoyed the event last time it was really well organised imho, a really nice atmosphere for the whole weekend, and i bumped into a dude called Bob, very friendly bloke we managed to neck a few tinnies after hours, so looking forward to that bit again, all BS aside thought it is a great opportunity to talk to other luthiers and gain / swap info. I won't have anything new to exhibit this year coz i've only built one gat and i sold that so i'll have to parade out the old stuff that i can't get rid of, hopefully i'll have a chance to complete another build before i down the obligatory ale with that Bob bloke next year.
Promise to take the camera along to post some pics on this thread!!
Cheers,,
Rod.

See you in the tent. We arrived yesterday. Car full of instruments. No new guitars, but plenty of new mandolins.

Probably more delighted Martin and rubbing their hands together, they can go ahead and order that extra mini tanker of draught now and know it will get drunk.kiwigeo wrote:The beer tent people are shitting themselves....they've just heard that Bob has arrived and he's thirsty.

I heard they were frantically laying a pipeline from Port Fairy to the Guinness plant in Melbourne.Nick wrote:Probably more delighted Martin and rubbing their hands together, they can go ahead and order that extra mini tanker of draught now and know it will get drunk.kiwigeo wrote:The beer tent people are shitting themselves....they've just heard that Bob has arrived and he's thirsty.

I grew up in Portland, not far from Port Fairy. It was a right of passage to go and get drunk and stumble through the streets when the folk festival came along
