Im trying to learn how to airbrush properly.

Anyone here good at laying down skulls / eyes / flames etc.

Im not wanting to use the airbrush for doing bursts, Ive got my normal paint guns for that and Im pretty happy with the results.

Really just want to start learning how to lay down graphic designs, freehand or stencilled

Google airbrush Venturi

Its an Australia wide airbrush school and it's where I learned my basics, I wish I had time to go for more terms than I did. Some of the people there were amazing artists. It's too late for me as our local school closed and the next closest is a couple hours travel away, but I did manage to create a network of go to artists whilst there.

I've actually received a referral link to an awesome website with video tutorials, learning the basic steps at the moment, step by step

I tried watching instructionals and teaching myself and got no-where. I have a drawer full of airbrush instructional dvds ect. It was all WAY over my head.

Having an instructor stand there and say what you are doing wrong and how to fix it made a massive difference.

I'm by no means an airbrush artist, far from it. But I did learn a lot from just one term with the Venturi mob. I also did a couple of their advanced graphics
courses which were great. But you really need to do the first term of their normal study before even considering their graphics courses or it'll be too much too soon as you need their basic skill set down to make it worth while. The first term you'll spend most of your time just doing lines and dots and a hundred or more variations of, but in reality, they are so important and a skill you'll need to get down pat.

This is the first guitar I airbrushed after doing their gfx course. It's not advanced or awesome or anything, but it was my "first go".

Hard to tell in the pic, but its meant to be a biomech type wall with various rooms, up the top a matrix like fetus, down the bottom a metal grate full of skulls, the electricity down the bottom right and the top right a room of gears. All very basic airbrushing, but like I said, it was my FIRST go after their crash course.



Since we're on the topic of airbrushed guitars, this is the last one I did just before xmas:

We have a graffiti artist in the 'family'. But, I guess you can work out how to spray people's property, cars, store fronts, and schools with cheap cans of spray paint.

And, he won't be around much longer

But, it seems the secret to good graffiti work (their review, not mine) is copious amounts of drugs and alcohol, and a disregard for other's well being. If you can nail that, you'll have no trouble!
