Harvesting MagicPower-Wood

Post by charangohabsburg » Tue Nov 19, 2013 8:43 am

Some of you may know Asterix and Obelix. Now I have found what I believe is the barrique used by them to transport some magic potion to Great Britain to help their cousins defending themselves against the Roman troops commanded by Julius Caesar.

To fold it flat one only has to pull ten nails and tap off six hoops:

It is as easy as playing Mikado.

Here the piled up remains, ready to be shoved into the hamster's cave:

Those parts of the barrique that will not serve for making super powerful instruments (actually most parts) will at least be fine for making some superpower-handles for hand tools, or serve as super powerful pizza oven fuel.

Sorry Marcus. You have the wrong barrel. Roger Bucknall has already souvenired THAT barrel.

Sorry Trevor, that was a bigger barrel than Asterix's one. See first picture. (Those barrel native to the atlantic coast of France are called barrique and hold only about 225 litres).

But that's only a 14.4 litre guitar. There's doubt about it. You've been Rogered.

You might be right, because (as Steve surely knows too) Asterix's barrel got destroyed by the Romans, and who could have been interested in reassembling its remains instead of straigtforward turn them into a musical instrument?

Oh well, at least that barrel was free, delivered at my door.

Now if it was full, THAT would be a real win. I you drained it, it sure didn't take you long!

Don't you worry about what we're building! It's what we've been drinking that is the real concern...

I'd like to see Marcus put that barrique back together, though!

Barrels make nice fruit bowls. Not a lot of fruit in this one but nonetheless!!!!

... but aren't you supposed to 'fire' the barrel whilst it's a barrel, rather than when it's on the sideboard?
