Thanks Frans.

Surely you are now home in Holland. I hope the rest of your visit was great. Again, it was a pleasure to meet you, and I look forward to seeing what you make from the blackwood....

Hey Nick, is that wood locally sourced? I have seen a couple of instruments made with it but have never see it for sale - it really is nice.

Cheers

Hi COl,

I got this set from an ANZLF member clearing out some gear. Other than that, I've not seen it for sale....Possibly someone else may know. I have a mate who's a tree lopper that's keeping an eye out for a trunk for me....We'll see....

Seems that the US sellers have a larger range than anyone down here....I'm gonna move into a run of blackwood guitars soon, as I have lote of that....

I didn't think that Mango trees would grow big enough to be able top produce bits wide enough for a back, but they obviously do. I'm not looking for any at the moment though, I'm after QLD maple for necks etc. I have my eye on a few bits of choice ebay furniture ready to be chopped up.

Col, the house we sold at Murwillumbah had a mango with a trunk about 1.2m in diameter, below the first branch. Little did I know then....... :|

No shit, must have been old. I wonder if anyone has used a peach tree or an apple tree to make a guitar?
