Thought I'd post some pics of my latest build.

Back and sides - Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle
Soundboard - King Billy Pine
Bindings - WA Jarrah
Neck - QLD Maple
Fretboard and bridge - QLD Mulga
Soundboard bracing - Bunya Pine
Pickup - LR Baggs StagePro Anthem

OK, I admit it, I love Australian tone woods.

It's only a couple of days old and it is already sounding great. The LR Baggs pickup is so good. Captures the natural sound of the guitar and has all the control I need in a live situation.

Another really great looking guitar the tiger myrtle looks fantastic.
I recived my first LR Baggs stage pro anthem today . Do you have a template for the cut out or just measure and cut the hole ?

Hi Steve, I used the paper template they supplied and I used double sided tape to stick it in position. First, I drilled the screw holes (in stages) then I drilled the corners of the cutout, then I used my Dremel with a cutting wheel to cut it out. One of my side supports was in that section so I had to use a small router bit in the Dremel to cut away a little of the ends so the system sat up in the hole correctly. It went in really well. Oh, and the hole for the jack/strap larger than other pickups I have installed. I covered the area in low tack masking tape and then drilled the hole in stages. It sounded great through our sound system at church.

Hi Martin,

Did you make any changes from "normal" bracing for the King Billy top? I have a King Billy top in my tiny stash and often wondered if the braces needed to be more substantial than for a spruce top?

HI Greg,
I used the standard X bracing that I do (not confident to dive into the Gore method yet). The King Billy I had was nice a stiff so all went well.

I'm just wondering where you keep turning up all that beautiful TM? Might have to have you followed for a bit to find out....
