Opportunity Grade EIR from Allied
I will say that I have bought a few of the Allied opportunity grade sets in the past and I was very pleased with what I received. If I had room I would buy more of the stuff but I have decided to get more exclusive with my selection as I have a lot of wood to choose from now and storage will become a problem.
Cheers

I can understand you concern Dominic.
If you still want to get it from Allied I'd be looking at getting in maybe ten sets and not committing to 20 straight up. Postage difference will be marginal per unit once you get over ten anyway.
Reason things have stalled is that I'm flat out at present and I'm heading overseas next Friday.
Well, not quite overseas but I'm heading to Tasmania (overstraits maybe) to deliver a guitar and buy more wood.
Considering that there will be no price break from Allied, I'm wondering if we could split this up on a state by state basis, with one person in each state collecting money and doing the ordering.
It would certainly make things a lot more manageable as I really don't have time at the moment to be doing a huge order.
I'll look after Victoria.
Any volunteers for Queensland and NSW.
I think Martin is the only one from SA so he can look after himself.
Let me know what you think.

I placed the Qld. order with Todd last night. I got a response from him stating that they've had to bump the price because of the shitty US dollar to the Indian Rupee. The come in at $25/set for 10 or more, so not that big of a jump.
Also they've been swamped with orders since they suspect that their special was posted on a Luthier Forum
. Going to take about 5 extra days to fill orders over the norm.

Tap tap tap on the door at 6.45 this morning meant that the posty had something for me (us).
A box with 20 backs in it. They all look nice to me. Ranging from the purple with yellowy streaks to red and some goldy brown. Some swirl or knots in all but I am impressed.
When the sides turn up I will try to match up the sets and get them sent off.
My bank is still not showing me the exact shipping charge but it looks like they will be around $49 each in total.

Cheers

G'day Dom ,
They look fantastic and way better than I expected . Thanks for taking the trouble to post some pics . I'm sure that will put a lot of minds at rest also regarding these being very substandard . I'm sure they will make great instruments . Great colour and also some nice figure in some sets.
What width are the back sets Dom ?
Cheers mate and thanks again for looking after us N.S.W. and ACT guys . Can't wait to get mine !
Let us know as soon as we can settle with you , so that you are not out of pocket Dom.
