Babinga & Ancient Spruce Tenor
Babinga & Ancient Spruce Tenor
This is the first time I've used Babinga. Had several sets on the racks for years and the client whom this is for was keen to get something really flashy. It's quite difficult to work with. Hard as nails and the pores are just huge, so takes quite a bit to fill them.
Top - Ancient Spruce
Back and Sides - Babinga
Fret Board - Gidgee with 12" radius
Bridge - Gidgee
Bindings - Blackwood
Rosette - Some unkown burl with Pau Abalone
Headplates - Gidgee
Neck - Spanish Cedar with CF truss rod
Finish - Mirotone over epoxy pore fill
Tuners - Hipshot
Strings - South Coast Ukes

Common now fellas. A week long ban should be sufficient.
Seems like forever that I managed to get anything finished....but there are 4 more on the bench for clients, and I've got to pull my finger out.

OMG Four more bloody ukes to come.
Don't ban him. It'll just give him more time to create masterpieces.
Make him contribute tutorials instead. That should slow him down.

I am sitting here just stunned. What an amazing collection of ukes. It is so nice to see someone that cares so much with their work. If I ever come to Cairns I would love to drop in and see you at work on these little beauties. Such an inspiration.
