Sound sample

Post by martintaylor » Mon Apr 15, 2013 3:02 pm

This is me singing one of my favourite Mike McCarthy songs, Closer to Thee. The guitar being played (by Mike) is one of my most recent guitar builds, Tassie Blackwood B+S, Bunya top. It has the LR Baggs iBeam Active pickup installed and was plugged straight into my laptop into GarageBand and I added a tiny bit of reverb.

Good job all round Martin! :cl :cl Nice bit of warbling and a great bit of playing by Mike. The guitar has a very crisp, clean sound with great definition between notes. It does tend to favour the mid to highs through my speakers (ear buds actually  ) so I will give it another listen through some better 'full blooded' speakers.
"Jesus Loves You."
Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

This is exactly what I am hearing too, and I don't think that my crappy speakers do any favour to the listening experience.
Keep it coming Martin! 8) :cl :cl :cl
