Thanks, Jim.

I found the sort of thing I'm looking for on that site here.

Definitely in the post code, not sure about the ball park yet. The guy asking me is looking primarily for straight acoustic, i.e. not dependant on any electronic amplification at all. I knocked up an acoustic version a few days ago, similar to the thing on the vid. Works OK rather than good. I don't want to have to put a whole lot of development time in though, if I can help it. I tell you, there is nothing on the web I can find for straight acoustic stuff that you stand on and "walk the beat" with. Maybe I'm over thinking it, but I don't really want to spend the time building a box that does nothing other than look good!

Jeff, it seems the favoured sound on the electric ones use a loudspeaker backwards as a pick-up, but there are all sorts of thing you can make work with a bit of filtering.

Thanks for the help, gents.

I used to have a Wazinator stomper 4-5 years ago with a inverted speaker setup, never really bonded with it, took to much eq to get even close to the sound I was after and my foot was no good for keeping a beat anyhows.

This rather talented man has an acoustic version, he just uses a large building. Oh an tap shoes by the sound of it. In the second vid at about 1.15 you can see what he uses indoors, you can't see it here but I seem to remember him putting a mic on the ground next to it as well when he performs.

:D

Thanks for that, Jim. One criteria was that it had to fit in his van, so unfortunately the first solution isn't a goer. The second is real simple; looks like the things the flamenco types use. I may work that one up a bit.

Paul, thanks for letting me know about Kenny. Will definitely give him a call.

Maybe bigger than your customer imagines a stomp box should be, but I am pretty confident that the box Paul Galbraith uses with his "Brahms Guitar" (by David Rubio) would work as a purely acoustical stomp box:
