Bass building lessons from a luthier?

Post by slowlearner » Thu Sep 13, 2012 10:10 am

My 40th is coming up soon enough and thinking about asking for people to chuck in so I could get some luthiery lessons from a good bass builder. Have already talked to Jeff Mallia in Sydney about it, but he's booked out. I'm really looking for a good, established respected bass builder in Sydney. Someone who I might be able to build a bass with and have him critique me as I went. Any ideas as to who else might be good?

Hi Pete,

I know you want guitar basses and you also play db. Try Matthew at Bresque Basses for db conversation.

Yeah, I've met Phil. Really lovely guy. But as you say, he's in Qld.
