Simple storage
Hi, another “what I do” post.
I bought a heap of these plastic containers from one of those $2.00 cheapie stores to store my templates in.
I found that having built so many different types of instruments over the years I had stashes of info [plans and templates] on these instruments all over the place, many I had not seen for 30 years. So I decided to group them all together.
For example: all the peghead patterns go together no matter what the instrument, all the pickgaurd patterns together, soundhole patterns all together.
Also there are pattern box’s for:
Bridges
Bridge plates
Neck profiles
Inlays etc.
In this way I find while I’m looking for a particular item I’m also glancing at others, and this gives me fresh ideas or the chance to use old patterns again.
The other idea is not new but it’s my way of keeping files, in order and easy to take to another bench,

Hi you smart a@#es, You are both right I had the clothes on from two week prior when I did have a cold but did not change them as it looked like glue, bit of a pose really. Now I know why Martin did not bring up a discussion on hide glue.
Anyway here's a better look at the snot pot...........I mean glue pot.
Takes two sizes of pot for big or small jobs

Dried up snot can be scraped off clothing relatively easily...not so with hide glue.Kim wrote:He may have had a cold Marty.

See, it's those little nuggets of information (no pun intended) along with Taffy's, that you wouldn't find in many other places, it makes the ANZLF the place to visit.kiwigeo wrote:Dried up snot can be scraped off clothing relatively easily...not so with hide glue.

Taffy if you use masking tape on the ends of the containers its much easier to see the labels and if you change your mind just rip it off and do another.
What i do, anyway.
