New arrival
I've just had this set of BRW sent to me by a customer that wants a LaPrevotte style romantic guitar. I won't be able to start it for 5 or 6 months, any ideas how i can store it so it won't crack, which is a possibility with this timber. I'm in Melbourne so it's not that hot at the moment, it's rained all day today.

Re: New arrival
Sticker it and seal end grain. Ideally store somewhere where humidity is same as your workshop and not prone to wild swings in RH.

Nor will I ever get to deal with itPaul B wrote:This is not something that I've ever had to deal with, damn it.

Mind you I have a hard job flogging my guitars anyway due to hard up Kiwi Muso's, imagine how I'd go if the back and sides alone were probably worth twice of what I charged for the whole friggin guitar normally anyway! Majority of Kiwi axe weilder's would not appreciate such wood..."Can't you use ply & paint or stain it to look like that?" (I kid you not!)

Nick I have to agree, as a guitarist, I look with my ears first and my eyes last.Nick wrote:Nor will I ever get to deal with itPaul B wrote:This is not something that I've ever had to deal with, damn it.![]()

Re: New arrival
Maybe i'm just lucky, this is the 3rd guitar he's ordered from me and i haven't finished the 1st one yet, and he dosen't mind getting the timber himself. At the moment he's looking for some Adirondack for the top on the brw. I'm just happy to be building guitars just like the rest of you guys and girl.

It's not that difficult ---just wax on wax off make sure you do the cracks.... of course tasmanian is easier.
