finally finished my carved es 335 that i started planning 2 years ago. The body and neck are QLD Maple, ebony fingerboard and on the headstock. White plastic bindings and abolone and mop inlays. Tobacco burst sprayed finish with shellac (tinted with Feast Watson stains), and nitro lacquer over the top. Here are some pics.
That's simply outstanding. All the details are spot on. Elegant, warm and inviting, makes me want to pick it up and hold it for a while. A cracker of a job on that burst and finish too. Don't stop making them now. You've got a talent.
Gawwwwwgeous! I love tobacco bursts at the best of times but this one takes it up a notch. I'd be happy to if this had come off my bench so well done Paul
And by the way...I wouldn't try correcting this one but when you build the next, the controls & pickguard go on the otherside of the lower bout
What sort of pickups do you use?

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.
I love 335's and I love sunbursts so I definitely love this guitar! I agree with all the others who approve of your fine burst and fine fit and finish.
Well, now I must put one of these on my "to build" list. I can see why you are so happy.
Congratulations Paul-fine work.
Very very very noice Paul, envious i am! i've actually got a similar build on the go at the moment, i hope i can get the finish somewhere near as nice as you have there!!
Cheers,,,
