Yes, how does one just simply drop it and create a break that extends down into the sides, me thinks that looks like a rock star stage act where you smash the body into the ground whilst holding onto the neck.

Nah, looks more like one of your standard domestic "smash!...and take ur f@#king guitar with u" cracks to me. Why do you think I began the journey into guitar repairs Stevo :wink: I can tell you this much mate, it can get to be bloody exie if a bloke has to keep knocking on a wood and wire wizards door every time there's a bit of a tiff...thank goodness I have aged really badly tis all I can say :lol:

Ive just noticed the nut on that instrument.....Ramirez fitted nuts like these on some of his instruments
