After having ordered two different sets of violin pegs to match an existing set [when I only needed one] for a customers violin and getting the wrong type, I came up with the idea shown in the photo. I had some spare cello pegs so I cut one to suit the set in the violin. I only needed one and this was a good solution to the problem. The design of the cello peg did not allow for a exact clone of the original, but its very close and if the difference was not pointed out I doubt if it would be noticed. The pegs sitting at different position helps too.

Re: Tuning peg problem solved
Pegs look pretty big.
For problematic sitautions where the peg hole is so badly worn, I have discussed the option of whitmore pegs, these sit in a lot further and use a mechanical set of gears for tensioning, thereby eliminating the need for fine tuners.
