Hey Lillian

Post by Nick » Mon Aug 29, 2011 5:10 pm

Aren't you an East Coast resident? Just wondered if you guys are all OK after Irene went through. I heard thousands without power so you may not see this for sometime but if you are on the East side just hoping you came through it relatively unscathed.

Lillian is in the Seattle region. So while hurricanes are usually not an issue, however computer programmers hyped up on caffeine driving their overprice BMW 4X4's can't be discounted as a and present constant threat.

:) Oh dearey me. I think you'll find Lillian's a bloke (sorry to disappoint  ).

Check out the following thread for evidence of such: -> viewtopic.php?=3&t=3231&p=39491&hilit=wife#p39491

Curses, stuffed up posting the link and then the "edit" function timed out before I could rectify the post.

Here's the correct link:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3231&p=39491&hilit=wife#p39491

It does appear however that his missus occasionally hijacks his username and posts in his stead, so I guess you guys haven't completely covered yourself in egg with this little misunderstanding....

.... not completely

Cheers,
Al.

Sorry Al but you better be good at making Omletes. Lillian is indeed a Woman, nothing in the rule book that says Ladies can't have female partners  And she's a decent Sheila to boot! :cl

Al,

Are you a betting man? $200 says Lillian is in fact not a bloke. The $200 to be donated to a worthy cause, namely this one which our Dennis Leahy is a keen supporter of:

Do it Al! Take the bet! Call his bluff! Don't let him beat you - you've got a full house: kings and queens, and Martin's high card is a jack.

Here's your chance!

As I was making those posts, I had a funny feeling it was all going to somehow backfire on me; a nagging thought was quietly muttering at the back of the 'ol frontal lobes as I was reaching for the "Submit" button: "these guys have been on the forums a lot longer than I have and yet they both seem to believe that Lillian's a woman -> what is that I don't know about this situation? What have I missed here?"

:) :)

Sorry Lil!

Boy are the face and ears burning....

... fortunately however, I do know of an excellent recipe for scrambled eggs on toast.

Make your the toast and scrambled eggs in the usual manner and pile the scrambled eggs on the toast, but then dribble a few lines of hoi-sin sauce over the top of it all.

Odd combination I know, and I dunno what it is about it, but the hoi-sin and scrambled eggs somehow complement each other beautifully and you end up with something that tastes much better than the individual ingredients would suggest.

Mind you, it's got to be only a little bit of hoi-sin. If you add too much it overpowers the egg (and that's all you end up tasting), and you lose that wonderful greater-than-the-sum-of-it's-parts new taste.

Just something I stumbled on by accident one day (we'd run out of tomato sauce/Ketchup).

Well, it's coming up to lunchtime here. Guess I'll scrape the consequences of last-evening's little faux pas off my mug, add some hoi-sin, and there's lunch sorted.

Cheers all!

Sorry I played you for a chump, Al. How low-class of me to goad you toward a bad bet. But yet, there are thirsty people out there that would somehow make it all OK.

Enjoy your brunch!

Hmm.

Still no sign of Lillian.

You've all got me a bit worried now.

Maybe she's back east helping the relo's repair. Am hoping work or visiting the relo's hadn't taken her back there at the time Irene had her little East Coast mosh session, and if she was, that she'd buckled in and came through it safe 'n sound.

It's been a few days now since Nick's initial post and there's neither hide nor hair of Lillian about the place -> just sent her a pm to check she's ok so hopefully she'll surface soon.

Cheers.

:lmao

OMG! That was to funny.

I'm sorry guys for not checking in. It didn't even occur to me. Kerplunk is correct. I did go west years ago. I have family back on the east coast. They are soggy but fine.

As for the rest of this thread.. . . What can I say? I love you guys.

Kerplunk you are truly a gentleman and you were gracious in your losing.

Marin, you are always welcome to drop by, as are the rest of you. But thank you for worrying about me and I apologize for not checking in sooner. I broke/bruised my coccyx two weeks ago and sitting at the computer has been, um painful.

I've been spending weeknights at my brother's because he lives in the town I work in so that I can save a bit of coin. Gas hasn't been this high since at 2008 and things are a bit tight. For those of you who are relatively new to the forum, I have a rather nasty commute. I live south of Seattle and work north of Seattle. Round trip I drive about 120 miles. It should be a two hour drive, but it isn't. If I'm lucky its a bit less than three hours. If I'm not, well, it has taken over four hours to get home with games and idiots playing bumper cars in the rain.

Allen, you've been reading the Seattle news again, haven't you? We just had a case of road rage that was pretty much like you described, except he killed the other driver.

Kerplunk, I wish I could say I was sorry the guys tried to play you, but I'm not. This thread was hilarious. Yes indeed I am a woman. And I am married to a wonderful woman. Well, I'm not sure I can really say that at the moment. I'm not in California, so I think the marriage ceased to exist once we crossed the border back into Oregon. I'm not sure. I'll have to get back to you on that one. But legalities aside. I am a pudgy middle-age woman who was lucky enough to fall in love with my best friend, who puts up with my woodwork obsessions.

Now, as for my missus hijacking my login, nope, sorry. It's all me. I do share threads with her frequently, but I don't think she has ever posted in the forum. My son did, but I think he realized that the guys were on my side and would continue to encourage me. Being bright and out numbered, he quietly exited.

And just so you don't think this is an elaborate joke on you, I offer photos. Which by the way, I've not done in the past. http://fransramblings.blogs.com/
If you scroll down on the right side is the photo gallery.

Martin, you are a true gentleman and generous to boot. Thank you for your donation.

Nick, you are just naughty. I've always liked that about you.

Thank you one and all for your contributions to this thread. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, and so has the missus. Now back to the sheds with ya.

Nick, I must apologize. I got my sheep mixed up.

Thank you for starting the thread. That was very sweet of you.

But I stand by my statement. This thread just isn't a prime example of that.

Bloody cheek! You should know by now Lillian...I'm the good looking one!
It's good to hear from you, just hadn't heard anything so just got to thinking when I heard about the big wirly thingy & knew if the roles were reversed you'd be doing the same. Think you've mentioned being in Seattle before but I think I'm older than you so my memory's diminishing rapidly, at this rate I'll soon be living in a goldfish bowl & calling a castle with a deep sea diver at my portculass, home.
Glad your family are all OK , think it petered out a bit quicker than they initially forecast didn't it? That's good though because if it had hit New York with full force it would have added 10's of Billions to the already large bill.
Sorry to hear about your coccyx though, that's bloody painful I know!
