What a beauty!
It was not until now on the finished guitar pictures that I have seen the tiger face on the headstock. Actually there are several tiger faces present. No wonder tiger myrtle is called tiger myrtle...

Nice to see that it's opening up nicely Steve.
I've built half a dozen KB topped guitars now and they all seem to do this around the 6 month mark.
Give it another 12 months and you will also notice some nice development of tone.
Happens a bit quicker than an Adi top.

Re: KB Pine/Blackwood OOO
Ernie, those clamps came from a gentleman that was on the OLF... and I can't remember the name.
The clamping power is supplied by rubber surgical tubing which I had to double up to get enough force. Probably some small spring clamps would do just as well--or better.
Bob, the guitar was delivered just an hour ago to a young man in Seattle, so I'll ask him, next year, how she's sounding! Thanks again, mate.

Ernie, that's a useful skill. Slingshotting will help your lining-clamping more than you know!

Steve ,
Beautiful Guitar, the browns on the front all blend and look matched in a subtle way, which matches the subtle shell. I also saw the cut away 12 fret you did recenly and put up on OLF , another incredible guitar.
Can I ask , did you use the teflon strip method and how wide is it ? the standard LMI
strips are 63" 94 " thick 1.6 mm and 2.4 mm Im guessing the thickness is the visible surface.

Re: KB Pine/Blackwood OOO
Thanks Rob for your kind comments.
Yes, there's a pic somewhere on this post that shows the teflon strip being used.
I chose the 1/16" pearl-- .0625" or so-- and got the teflon strip for that width.
In that size the stip is nearly square, so I'm always checking with my calipers to see which face is the one needed. I mark that with a pen so that I've got the correct width being established for the pearl. Make sense?
