Actually, we are having some trouble with the neck – does anyone know how these are constructed? We have assumed that they are dovetail but it is not steaming off like it should and is being quite a stubborn little shit. As it is an early Maton who knows what they have done (I suggested that it was nailed on – apparently this is not helpful advice). Don’t get me wrong my 20 year Maton is my go to guitar – finish wearing off to wood. I look so cool.

Back on topic, this is a shop guitar that will be put back together and sold off – these little guitars seem to be very popular due to Mr Emmanuel and others like Michael Fix. So it seems like a good time to pass it on (and buy more wood from Tim – ha ha ha)
Anyway, before it goes I was going take a bunch of photos and measurements (including the bracing) and was wondering if anyone else would be interested? If so I will post my findings. This may also lead to some plans – if people are interested.
Might be a good ‘build for yourself’ project or for a customer – especially with all Australian timbers.
Just for fun, my plan was to build a replica of Mr Emmanuel’s including the ‘relicing’ and his scribbles on the upper bout – sad I know.
