This has been posted elsewhere so apologies to people who have already seen these pics, but...
I thought maybe this is the best forum to problem solve errors etc.

I finally got my shed built... It took nearly a year and involved doing a Owner Builders Course etc. But learnt a lot in the process and gave me a good excuse to acquire some expensive tools (of course offset by the money I saved by building it myself).

THE SHED...


Not being knowledgeable in these things I'm not sure whether this is a great idea or not. But I decided that rather and destroy quality timber with my first build I would used recycled stuff from my local demolitions.

Anyway some pics...

Some old silky oak sourced and resawn for the back.


Back bracing...


Timber for the sides...


Successfully bent (shame about the nail holes)...


Timber for the front, hoop or bunya pine I think...

Putting it all together, fingers crossed...

Thats exceptional mate.
Most people that start out, bu ordering a kit, or buy nice presized and thicknessed new wood, using recycled timber is a stage a lot further on, so you doing it out of recycled timber to start with makes it an excellent first build

Great way to tackle your first, your bound to pick up much more about the process by diving in and exploring the deeper end and that will progress you along very quickly..Nice shed too

Some progress on the neck.
Spent a lot of time sharpening spoke shaves etc... But ended up doing most of it with files. I thought the "feel" was better.

You can see that I've also built my Neck Joint Routing Jig.

Well pretty much finished (I think!).
Some problems and mistakes that I'll 'fess up to at a later date...

Congratulations Mike, that's a really nice guitar and sounds perfectly OK to me (or is it just the player? ).

As I see you were following a pretty straight forward strategy: first built the shed you planned to build the guitar in. Cool.
Now you can start to use your shed as a kitchen.
