Have a client who keen on having an 18 inch archtop made but JEEZ THEY ARE BIG

Hmmm, the 17" archtop is a substantial size, although this one is just a tad larger it does end up quite a large guitar.

The '18 inchers' are amazing guitars for jazz...but I'd argue that their versatility is not as great as the 17 inch archtops

So does the client wish to play country - a fairly wide horizon on its own - or jazz, which these days spreads over no small pallet. Or does the client just want an 18" archtop with FF holes like that one .......

Nah he studied Jazz Improv at the Victorian College of the Arts and Music so he's looking for something very similar to a Gibson super 400 or the D'Angelico New Yorker with f holes and 18 inch across the lower bout and a fairly standard rounded cutaway.
