Long Long way to go...but glad i spent a ridiculous amount of time ensuring the join was good...There are a few high spots as a result of the joining process that shadow and make the join look sloppy but thinning it out will bring out that fairly invisible join
Might be a shadow, or it could be a grain line. I've managed to line up the grain lines on a couple of tops so that the join stood out. I ended up separating the plates and redoing them.

It is a great feeling to shoot a good joint (even if it takes ages chasing that one high bit) - and then to get it glued tight. Looks like nice blackwood.
