Are those the strings you used for setting up the nut? You really ought to change them.

It seems that limited storage space was a major concern when designing this axe and therefore you kept the sides a bit shallow. So the air resonance might be a bit too high.
Nice guitar though. Is it foldable?

Try shifting the string spacing a little closer or dropping two strings altogether, buy a sombrero & turn it into one of those big arse mexican basses. You'd make a fortune at outdoor resturantsTod Gilding wrote:I have just finished my latest build but it doesnt play all that well, and I'm not sure what I did wrong, Any idea's ?

Thanks Jeremy, I just Checked that 8th fret, I use my fingers for that, I know that from the tip of my index finger to the first knuckle is the first fret, then it's just a matter of adding a little bit for each fret after that,I find this method very accurate, and the 8th seems more or less right.Intonation? Lillian, Down here we have a supplier of high quality strings, we call it the Hills Hoist. Are those the strings you used for setting up the nut? You really ought to change them.

Tod, I'm familiar with those. I know our local supplier carries coated wire and filament. I find that they tend to be a bit stretchy. Hard to get broken in properly.
Re: Help needed with recent build
Assuming that's a normal size guitar I'd say you need to offer it to someone who isn't a garden gnome.

I suspect that this is where your problem may lie. No guarantees of course, but it could be worth "taking a little bit off for each fret after that".

I think the problem would mainly be with bar chords, otherwise it should play in tune. Do you get help to turn the tuners?

I'd say you'll get a better result by taking a little off each knuckle after that.

Looks kind of normal to me. I don't see what the fuss is about. But why are you holding it sideways?

Re: Help needed with recent build
