Was just wondering if anyone could give me a couple of tips regarding installing pickups in an archtop guitar.
I found an old harmony motclair at a garage sale and its a bit worn out.
Its got a great sound to it still and i want to start playing it live but its all acoustic.
Any suggestions are helpful.
cheers.

If it has a sturdy pickguard you could attach a floating pickup to it.

Or you could attach a floating pickup to the end of the fingerboard.

You could attach a surface mounted pickup.

You could use an integrated archtop bridge pickup

Anything else would require cutting holes in the soundboard (I think).
(PS. The links are just examples, not preferred brands. Have a good search around)
