Re: New Luthier Tips du Jour Instructional video
Thank you Robbie, very informative and beautifully presented as usual.
I have a quick question regarding the placement of the transducers - you mention in the video that you have built jigs for easy placement of them into the positions that you had determined to be optimal for your guitar. I was wondering how one goes about determining the optimal positions for these transducers in an instrument in general? Are there any processes or guidelines to aid with that?

Thank you, Glad you liked the video. The simple jig I speak of in the video while installing the K&K pickup is one that comes with the pickup. The instructions show how to use it to get the correct positioning for your guitar. On the B band pickup they recommend installing the transducer under the saddle with an optional position being just begind the bridge pins if the transducer will not fit in the space under the saddle and between the braces. That is what I did. Most companies that make pickups will tell you where the optimal placement should be.morgan wrote:Thank you Robbie, very informative and beautifully presented as usual.
