Guitar repairs

Post by DarwinStrings » Wed Dec 15, 2010 6:42 pm

I was up the local shop today getting a few things for dinner and as I was standing in the checkout queue I turned around and caught the eyes of the guys behind me, as usual I said "Gday". I didn't know him but he said "aren't you working, I said "not at the moment". He then said "what do you do", I told him I repair guitars and work as a I.S.A.S. in schools. He then went on to ask if I could swap a couple of electrics to lefties for him and put a few bodies together with their electrical components, so I told him I could and he took my number. As we walked out of the shop he continued the conversation along the guitar lines, told me he was a muso and continued to tangent the topic ( standing in the bloody hot sun) till he got onto the music industry and the way the internet takes money away from it. I was getting a bit sweaty and wanted to get away from the chat but he tangented again and asked "why didn't Pink Floyd keep going till now" I told him I had no idea, now getting shorter with him, then he exclaimed that he owned their music and stated "I am serious" I said "what? you mean you own the rights to their albums" he said "nope, I have all the music from in between the tracks", scratching my head I said "I am not sure what you mean" he then said "I have all the music they didn't do from between the tracks, I got it from the Astral plane  all music comes from the astral plane you know". I did my best to stifle the chortle that was trying to get out of me then politely told him I had to get out of this hot sun, got in the car and wondered if I should be so hasty when giving out my phone number. Oh well I guess I can't be too fussy when it comes to customers in this game.

He lies!!! the music between the tracks is all mine..has been for years ever since......I forget, but ever since is good enough.

Crazy bastards make me nervous. You should have asked him if he has heard the album "wish you weren't here" and funny that you were both having that conversation on the 'bright side of the sun'...I think they made a Seinfeld episode about that, reverso world or something...between the track indeed.

Glad you get your sprinkling of normality barometric indicators up there as well Jim

sounds like an interesting visit to the shop. Beats the people i usually get. Mostly oldies chewing my ear for some reason.

have any of you guys heard the album "the sunny side of the moon'? by a guy called richard cheese. he does lounge and jazz covers of songs that you wouldnt expect.

" Alone and far away" is always a good tune to suggest.

   He may have made me chortle but repeating his story to you mob gave me a belly laugh. I better keep these just in case the astral plane neglected to send him titles with those tracks, I might end up with some royalties.

Have to agree Jeremy, variety is.
