Bigsby bridge.

Post by Nick » Mon Dec 13, 2010 9:17 am

OK, before embarking on my latest two builds (which are just about finished....finally!) I had an idea to make either a ES335 or the CS equivalent (back to my electric roots  ). I've just spied this beautiful ES335 finished in white with gold hardware (Gibson's version of a White Falcon?).

It has the Bigsby trem fitted to it. The look appeals, so I punched in "Bigsby tremelo" into google & went to the bigsby site. When I looked at where I could buy one it just said I could "find them available at all good musical parts store". So a further google search has renedered zilch! (Musician's Friend only had a B5 model for sale, I'm after the B7).
Anybody know of any suppliers (either in Oz or offshore) Where I could get one from?

Plenty on Ebay and a lot cheaper
Note that the B7 USA made is more expensive than the B7 licensed (or B700)
Probably nothing wrong with the licensed as long as you don't pay USA made prices.

Hey Nick.

I've seen them a few places over the years, but the first that comes to mind is simply Stewmac. They carry a range of them and considering you are likely to need other stuff to order alongside... Can't comment on pricing though.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Thanks Chaps, I can't see the option to buy a gold one from Bob's link but will check out the EBay's possibilities too, thanks Jeff. I've gotten out of the habit of buying from EBay so I tend to forget it as a search option  . And thanks Jeremy, I did a quick search earlier of Stewmac but obviously wasn't holding my tongue right, just went back & entered what I was looking for in their search option & it instantly kicked back the model I was looking for. Must be coated in 24 carat gold though! Another 90 bucks US for the Gold model over the polished aluminium  ...Think I need a cup of tea & a lay down   Thinking Ebay's my friend right about now
*update*
Hmmm that's only kicked back 5 results & all for the polished aluminium version.

Phew, not cheap.

Just checked the pricing - Gold B7 at Stewmac is $250 Nick... Assumably, this is the US made version.

Thanks for that Jeff, when I logged on I went to the USA sight & it didn't pick this seller up.
One Bigsby bridge is on it's way to me (for alot less than the cost of the Stewmac jobby!) Image
