I got hold of a copy of this DVD which is a history of the Maton company as well as what they are currently doing, photos in the factory, harvesting Blackwood with Murray Kidman, interviews and some playing with Tommy Emmanuel plus their custom shop.

Very interesting stuff. Pat Evans even gets his ugly mug on it. (Pat's a Geelong boy who is now production manager)

I was going to make it available for download but it's too big (3.5GB)

Anyone who wants I'll burn it for you but it'll cost you a couple of pints of Guinness if I ever run into you in a pub.

Whoa.....check out the guy working on the neck tenon with the chisel. Not exactly the safest way to have a chisel pointed..straight towards his wrist!!!

thats not like anything I saw or was taught while I was there.....
I always had the neck in a vice and 2 hands on the chisel
I saw quite a few accidents with people doing stupid things with chisels

yes I believe after sharpening using the scary sharp method some prefer to use the "scary method" chisel handling technique

Well you'd never what I just went and did half an hour ago. I just slashed the top of my hand open with my 25mm paring chisel.

Just goes to show that you can never have so much experience that you can't make a stupid mistake that'll put you on the sideline.
