I took the first half a dozen sets out and they are all nice and stiff and ring like a gong. And for under 20 bucks a set plus free bracewood, a set of steak knives and a patty stacker (but wait, there's more) this is seriously good tonewood at a more than reasonable price. And no I'm not on commision from Graham Hein but I'd put his wood up against anyones.
I also think that Engelmann has an undeserved reputation of having little overhead when played aggressively. We've built four Engelmann, one Sitka and one Lutz OM this year and it stacks up pretty well for fingerstyle or strumming.
