I have found it useful to have a dedicated sharpening area in my workshop . This encourages me to keep my edges keen ,even whilst in the middle of an operation , rather than have to clear an area and interupt my process.
G'day Serge,
I have hung on to all the wood I have salvaged from not only this piano but others as well . Some of it will make great brace wood. The action and keys are usually made from Swiss Pine on these type of German pianos . Being seasoned for well over a hundred years , it should be good stuff , not to mention their soundboards.
G'day Allen,
Well , some of the Ivory went here as the purfling you see ( neck and bridge
Cool bench you made there Craig! That's a good idea to have a dedicated bench for sharpening.
I need to find an area for this in my shop . Nice ivory inlay too!
