hi everyone,
new member here & I'm just about to start building my first guitar - a bolt on neck solidbody. I'll probably only get an hour or two a week to work on it, so it will be a long, slow process - especially with the fairly bare workshop I have! LOL. Hoping to have it done by the end of the year!
First question - I have a Gotoh 2 way truss rod - does the channel have to be routed with a slight curve at the middle, to allow for a slight forward bow? Or is a flat channel OK.
Also am I right in assuming these rods go in taped side down (solid metal side facing the fingerboard)?
Cheers,
PJ

Welcome to the forum PJ,
Answers to your questions:
1. I use LMI's two way truss rods in my acoustics and my channels are flat bottomed (ie no curve).
2. I havent seen the Gotoh two way rod but on the LMI two way rod the solid metal bar faces up and the rotating part of the rod faces down.
Cheers Martin
