We were notified this week that the Ministry of Education and Training in Hanoi has approved all of this which means I'll get to travel to Vietnam a couple of times a year to oversee assessments.
The way this works is The Gordon TAFE supply the college in Vietnam with a nationally recognised training package and the resources to deliver the course and we work with the school to ensure AQTF compliancy. Their students are awarded an Australian qualification with the ability to dovetail into one of our advanced diplomas or uni if they want to continue their education in Australia.
It's been a bloody lot of work and there's still a heap to do before the course starts but I do believe there are some nice rosewoods and ebonies than come out of the Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia area.

I've done some research on Vietnam and there's bugger all lumber left there. They import wood from Laos and other nearby countries to supply their own furniture manufacturing industry.
At some stage in the future I may be there for a month which will include a couple of weeks holidays if anyone cares for a visit.
I'm heading over for a preliminary visit at the end of November so it should be interesting.
