I'm currently finishing a blackwood acoustic body... after pore-filling with Zpoxy (2 coats) and then shooting a few coats of lacquer (Mirotone 3220), I realised my pore-filling attempts were not great...I still have pinholing in areas. I'll try local suppliers as well to see if anyone sells smaller quantities. I know the Mohawk stuff, but as you've said it's not cheap at $75/litre.

I'd probably bleach it and the add some tint to the lacquer to add a little color back, or possible stain the neck if you're finishing from rattle cans.

I was going to give it a light tint anyway, so I'll also look into bleach as an alternative to acid. Thanks
