Re: Pore fill question
Thanks- agree testing would be safest... I used option 1, and sanded back to bare wood leaving only filler in the pores. I ended up pulling out too much while trying to sand across the grain (to avoid pulling out the filler), but that only resulted in more scratches for me, so I'm not sure what the ...

Pore fill question
I'm currently finishing a blackwood acoustic body... after pore-filling with Zpoxy (2 coats) and then shooting a few coats of lacquer (Mirotone 3220), I realised my pore-filling attempts were not great...I still have pinholing in areas. I've never used the Zpoxy before so I may have sanded off too m...

Re: Miratone 3220 source
Thanks for the replies. 36mths... I thought it was only 24 months so that's a bit better!
I'll try local suppliers as well to see if anyone sells smaller quantities. I know the Mohawk stuff, but as you've said it's not cheap at $75/litre.
Cheers

Does anyone know of a source for smaller quantities than the 4 litres tins? I only build at 'hobby' speed... and I don't want to buy 12 litres (3220+thinner+slow thinner) i...

Re: How to remove these marks?
I was going to give it a light tint anyway, so I'll also look into bleach as an alternative to acid. Thanks

Re: How to remove these marks?
It’s rock maple. I might give the acid a go to trial it. Just wasn’t sure if it would bleach the wood too much. Thanks

How to remove these marks?
First time poster here.. I'm attempting a Tele style neck and I've stuffed up! So I'm hoping the more experienced on here could offer their advice....I was ironing out some small dents with a damp rag (which was successful), but it looks like I've also leeched some tannin across the grain with the i...
