Special Tute for Hesh's Birthday

Post by Serge » Sun Oct 14, 2007 8:41 am

Hey dear brother, since you and me have a hard time changing the strings on our guitars, i thought that with the help of our bro Alain and his charming lady Stella, that it would be nice to learn what to do when this horrifying task occurs, here are the basic steps of restringing 101!

Ok, first step, get new strings, Alain "Van Alain" is my personal pusher on this!

Image

Unwind the old dern strings with a thingamabob! :D

Image

Roll those old strings and GET RID OF THEM mmmmkay?

Image

put your bridge pins near you so that you don't lose any and get the first new string, ahem!

Image

Strech it up, come on, flex those muscles!

Image

Insert the ball end in that first hole, see, it ain't that hard, i'm learnin' with you!

Image

Image

Ok, repeat process for string no 2, hmmmkay?

Image

same thing hmmmmmkay?

Image

Ok now, this is where it gets nasty and complicated but nothing undoable, just follow, make a couple of turns with that string around that thingies protruding from the top of the peghead before you insert the string in that tiny hole!

Image

Now it's either you cut the extra length with a pair of pliers or you do it a la Don Ross and reinsert it in a circle fashion like our pal Alain does :cl

Image

Still with me bro? Hummmmmkay! Now that that thingamabob to bring your string back to tension.

Image

Et voila mon frere Hesh, ready for country rock, R & B, gospel or hip hop!
