Rain stopped play...

Post by Taffy Evans » Fri Feb 14, 2025 12:14 pm

Hi, I can’t seem to keep out of the workshop, even if there was 400mm plus of rain showing in my rain gauge last week. Thankfully not as bad as some other folks.
Too wet for building or repairs, and I got sick of emptying the dehumidifier , so – jig building time.
The resetting of necks is a task I get quite often, and I had never had the time to make a fixture that would hold the guitar really firm so that the sanding is my main function and not holding the guitar as well. Until now. Other jigs have had slight movement whilst working but not this one.
It works great, and I do not have to find somewhere to store it. Although wall space is at a premium in my shop. Photos should tell the story.

Another patent-able invention Taffy. Nice one.
I spent a while looking at the photos wondering about the functional importance of having two tuners installed while using this jig - but I am guessing that was just a random feature of the instrument modelling the system?

Glad to hear that the biblical flood didn't wash you away, or even stop you from working!
