Luthier survey: Honours study about native timbers

Post by Kim de Rijke » Tue Jul 23, 2024 3:04 pm

Dear all,

My honours student in anthropology at the University of Queensland is doing her honours research project on native timbers in guitar building. The research project is called "The Social Life of Guitar Timbers: Exploring Nativeness in Luthier Craft". She is interviewing guitar builders in Brisbane and has observed some luthiers at work too. She has also created a survey for luthiers. It is anonymous and won't take long to complete. If you have a few minutes, please find the survey, including additional information about the project, here: https://uniofqueensland.syd1.qualtrics. ... fZOXvOVa8m

The survey will be open until Tuesday 6 August. Thanks for your time, Kim.

Great project Kim and Caitlin.
I have done the survey and encourage my luthier friends here to do so too. I will be interested to see some of the findings.
Cheers
Mark
