Hello to all new luthiers who have recently joined the forum. I thought i would take the opportunity to stress to the recent joining members how easy it is to use this website as a great resource and as a way to keep raising the bar to produce better results more often. (im still amazed at how much useful stuff there is after months of archiving!)
The other reason i am writing now tonight is to encourage new users to try wood from Tim Spittle because He is so, so good to deal with and makes small problems so easy to overcome. I don't usually talk too many people up, but wow i am impressed with the service of such a busy bloke!
P.S I am startng two OM's together these holidays and will keep a log of progress via pics and frustrated threads. both plain tas blackwood b&S and one red spruce top the other bunya.
see ya soon xray!

Youre preaching to the converted here mate. Tim is tops in terms of product and service. Hes even been known to pick up customers from Perth Airport in a stretched limo with girls and champers in the back. Well ok there wasnt a limo and there werent any girls and champers. But he did pick up the customer from the airport and then run him back to catch his flight.

My first acoustic build was a Concert Uke kit from Tim. I made a real mess of bending the sides the first attempt and he gave me a call one evening to help me try and get it right the second time. Good advice received!! My third guitar build was a weissenborn copy which was all blackwood also from Tim. The guitar come up a winner!
It is great to have a vendor out there who is interested enough to help a beginner like me and supply quality guitar building materials. Tims service and advice is second to none.
Xray.... I hope you will share your builds journey with us.
I took over 100 pix of my weiss build and kept a 43 page log. You could say I really enjoyed the guitar building process along with frustration, issues and mistakes!!! But what a great learning curve.
Cheers
